Well I stopped by the receiving home today and met the girls. They are sooo sweet and really pretty well-behaved. I spent nearly an hour there with them today. The baby is soooooo adorable; I can’t even describe her! The 2 year old is sweet and snuggly. She doesn’t really talk at all yet, but we can work with that. We have before. The 4 year old is a little mom to her sisters and has a great imagination too! I think they are going to be a great fit. We are doing an overnight visit with them Monday night and then we will give the official ok to take them. At this point, there is just one thing that may keep us from taking them…we go to church in a different state (only 20 minutes away, but we still have to cross state lines) so we have to get permission to take them with us. We haven’t had a problem getting permission from birth parents yet for this, but you just never know so I have left a message for our consultant to work on getting that before I fully commit. We never have an idea of how long our placements will be for (except respite of course) so we don’t want to have to find a babysitter every week and make them stay home while we go to church. Going to a different church is just not an option for us right now since we just started going to this one a few months ago and are already becoming pretty involved. So I’m praying that we’ll get the go OK to take them with us because I really feel like these girls are meant to be with us.
How one door closes another one opens….
is it this monday that they are staying?
I pray that they will be able to let you take the kids interstate!!!
Funny we have the same prob we are 20 mins from the South Australian border and we need paper work from out caseworker to be able to go over!!!
Yes it is this Monday. They will be with us for 24 hours and then I would guess (if all goes as planned) they will move in later this week or the beginning of next.
